Lavender + Epsom Salts

There are endless combinations of flowers and essential oils to use in bath and skin care products, but Lavender is my go-to.  It is so calming and relaxing, not to mention it’s healing properties.  It soothes burns, rashes, skin conditions, bruises, calms the nervous system and even aids with sleep.

I love epsom salt as my base in any bath product.  The magnesium helps to soothe tired muscles, aid in blood circulation and relax the body.  It will fully dissolve in your bath water but the lavender flowers will not, so be sure to use a reusable tea bag or make your own.  You can also cut squares of cheesecloth, fill the centre with your homemade bath goodies, join the 4 corners at the centre and tie it all up with string.

In a glass measuring cup, combine

1 cup epsom salts
1/4 cup dried lavender flowers
7-10 drops lavender essential oil

Mix together and pour into a reusable, drawstring tea bag or cheesecloth tied with string. Drop into your warm bath and let your stressful day go down the drain.
