Re-purposing at least some of your daily coffee grounds makes you just a little bit greener. Coffee not only stimulates your energy but it also stimulates collagen production in the skin and creates a nice glow. Used grounds from a recent pot of coffee are still warm and soft, so they are not abrasive if used as an exfoliant.
Here are 3 ways to re-purpose those old grounds and help shine up your glow:
- Brown sugar and coffee face scrub. We made this recipe on Global BC news!
- Coffee + yogurt nourishing face mask: Yogurt contains lactic acid that will help remove dead skin cells and coffee grounds will provide that bit of scrub to help polish skin. Combine 1/4 cup plain yogurt with 1-2 TBLSP coffee grounds. Gently massage mixture into face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse and moisturize.
- Moisturizing foot scrub: After soaking tired feet in hot water with 1/4 cup epsom salt, take a mixture of 1 TBLSP each coconut oil and coffee grounds and massage into feet and lower legs. Rinse and moisturize feet with more coconut oil. Wear socks until oil has absorbed.
