Here is a way to REFRESH dull, dry skin this summer. Sunshine and pool chemicals can really dry out the skin.
Watermelon is extremely hydrating. It is made up of 91% water, so it helps to replenish body fluids. It also is high in lycopene, an antioxidant that helps protect the body, and skin, from free radicals that can cause premature aging, even cancer.
Lactic acid in yogurt helps to naturally dissolve dead skin cells, so it makes a great base for face masks, particularly on dry or flaky skin.
- 1 TBLSP watermelon juice
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
Apply to a clean, dry face with clean hands. Leave on for 15 minutes, rinse, and moisturize while skin is still damp. Repeat weekly, if necessary.
Always to a patch test on skin before applying any foods topically to ensure there is not an allergic reaction.
