Sleep rituals // Golden Milk is where it’s at.
Turmeric, aka the “spic of life”, boosts immunity and helps fight inflammation, great for those who suffer from joint & muscle pain and arthritis. It has medicinal properties which include anti-inflammatory, supports brain and joint health, aids in digestion, and helps boost immunity .
Golden milk is my body’s best friend right now and the warm milk aids in a restful sleep. The protein in cow’s or almond milk is the building block of tryptophan, which promotes sleep. Turmeric lowers blood sugar levels so you won’t wake up in the night from a low and feel that you need to eat.
In a small saucepan, add:
- 1 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp raw honey
- pinch black pepper (to help curcumin absorption)
- pinch cloves
- pinch nutmeg
Simmer for 10 minutes. Serve warm.
