Homemade gifts are my favourite kind of gift to give and receive. Who doesn’t appreciate a thoughtful gesture like this!? A bonus, these gifts are non-toxic. These are especially nice as Hostess gifts when going to a friend’s for dinner, as teacher gifts, for a new mom, baby or even for yourself 😉
Always be sure to label or include the ingredients with your homemade gift in case there are any allergies or intolerances to ingredients.
1. Lavender Bath Salts
- 1 cup epsom salts
- 1/2 part dried Lavender flowers
- 5 drops Lavender essential oil
Duplicate recipe as needed and scoop into small jars.
4. Baby’s Bath Tea
A wonderful gift for a new baby. This one is really important to me because you have to think…babies sit in bath water and their skin absorbs what they are soaking in. Ensure it’s nothing but natural. Herbal Bath Tea is a blend of organic oat flakes, dried Calendula, Lavender and Chamomile flowers. All are soothing on sensitive skin and healing for diaper rash, eczema and for those who want to avoid harsh chemicals in bubble baths.
Combine equal parts of all ingredients into a jar, mix well. Label with ingredients and include a drawstring muslin bag to scoop the ‘tea’ into. This way the flowers and oats won’t clog the drain or end up stuck on baby’s skin. Simply drop the teabag into baby’s bath, discard contents when finished. Rinse the bag and reuse.
