Natural Toothpaste Recipe ~ 3 Ingredients

When my first baby was born, I started reading labels on everything.  I was not an expert, didn’t even know how to “adult“, really, and felt like I was winging it.  Don’t all new moms? I became very concerned with all the ingredients in products that I could not even pronounce.  They were in everything. All the bubble bath that I would sit my baby in, all the toothpaste that I would rub his gums with, all the shampoo, moisturizers…you get the idea.

After researching all these ingredients, I came to learn that most were potentially carcinogenic, could eat away at the skin, cause harm if ingested or lead to death. I set out to find an alternative and simply (I say “simply” because making things is my passion) made my own products.  I developed a line of natural baby products, which are now distributed across Canada, and I made, and still use, natural cleaning products to use around my home.

Going back to basics and using what nature intended for us, and gave us, is simple.  It’s right here waiting for us.  Why not take advantage of what we have at our fingertips? Baking soda naturally whitens and removes odour, coconut oil is naturally antibacterial and is used in oil pulling for whitening teeth, removing plaque and bacteria, and to help heal gums. Aromatherapy is a holistic practice that I include in all of my products. The oils extracted from plants and flowers act as cleaners, disinfectants, have anti-bacterial, anti-fungal properties, and inhaling them can offer relaxing or even stimulating benefits.
