Aromatherapy is the practice of using naturally extracted plant oils to enhance psychological and physical well-being. The constituents in plants can be stimulating, relaxing, can ease congestion and even heal the body physically. Essential oils can be inhaled, applied topically, added to a bath and beauty products to add scent and the plant’s benefits. Be sure your essential oils are organic, to avoid pesticides, if you are using them topically. They should all be diluted with a carrier oil or water and never used directly (neat) on the skin. They are very concentrated oils that absorb into the bloodstream via inhalation and skin, so they should be used in low doses and always check each oil’s contraindications before use if pregnant, using on children, or using with a medical condition.
A blend of calming essential oils that you apply on your pulse points offers up a lasting, warm natural fragrance that is non-toxic and leaves you smelling delicious.
Lavender, Orange, Grapefruit and Vanilla are grounding, uplifting, calming, and relaxing all at once. This is one of my favourite blends that I wear daily for instant soothing of the spirits.
Fill a glass roller bottle almost to top with Grapeseed oil. Grapeseed does not have a scent, is not sticky, and absorbs into the skin quickly.
- 8 drops Lavender oil
- 8 drops Orange Sweet oil
- 8 drops Grapefruit oil
- 4 drops Vanilla oil
Snap the roller ball onto the top and use on pulse points. Shelf life is approximately 1 year.
