Dried blueberries are sweet and can replace any added sugar, they are a superfood, providing protection against free radicals that can cause disease, illness and aging, and they boost immunity. Fresh, dried or frozen, try to include blueberries a few times a week in your meal plan.
Here are 5 ways to include dried blueberries in your routine:
- Add them to your homemade granola recipe.
Preheat oven to 350F
Dry: mix together,
2 cups organic rolled oats
1/2 cup brown rice flour (or almond flour)
1/2 cup seeds or nuts of choice
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 cup dried blueberries
1 tsp cinnamon
Wet: mix together,
1/4 cup honey
1 TBLSP coconut oil
1/2 cup unsweetened Apple sauce
Combine wet and dry ingredients well. Spread out onto a baking sheet and bake for 35-40 mins or until golden. Let cool completely. I like to leave mine out for a few hours so it gets even crunchier 🙂 Store in an air tight, glass container for up to 2 weeks.
3. Freeze them! They make a sweet, healthy snack
4. Add them to your overnight oats or Chia Pudding
5. Add them into your trail mix recipe with a combination of nuts. Be sure to eat just a handful a day 🙂
