Here’s a question…how many beauty products do you use in one day?
Join us for 4 weeks, challenging common chemicals found in beauty products. My goal is to have you start reading product labels and know the effects of chemicals often found in your products. When you consider how many times each day you apply these chemicals, that amount adds up and increases your toxic load. Your liver then has to process those chemicals and eliminate them through various pathways. Sometimes, chemicals are stored in your fat cells and not eliminated.
Week 1: Fragrance
How many of your beauty products have a known irritant in them, called “Fragrance”? This week, all I ask is that you read labels on your products and count how many contain fragrance. Then, consider how many times you apply them to your skin in one week. Then, I ask that you consider that fragrance can cause irritability, mental vagueness, muscle pain, asthma, bloating, joint aches, sinus pain, fatigue, sore throat, eye irritation, gastrointestinal problems, laryngitis, headaches, dizziness, swollen lymph nodes, spikes in blood pressure, coughing, and burning or itching skin irritations. Eliminating a few products from your daily regime that contain fragrance will greatly reduce your toxic load and may relieve some of the symptoms listed above.
