Espresso is coffee brewed by forcing a small amount of nearly boiling water under pressure through finely ground coffee beans. There are many coffee snobs, gurus, experts in the coffee bean, which I am not. I drink espresso first thing in the morning and savour it. I look forward to getting up to my espresso, it truly excites me.
I think coffee is a personal and acquired taste. Some like it bitter, strong, fine grind, and then there is the machine, pressure, timing, temperature of the water and proper grinding of the beans. I could go on, but, like I said, I’m certainly not an expert. I just like to drink it. I have also been known to use it in skin care🙂
This recipe started out as an experiment and ended really well. I wanted to incorporate espresso in to these bliss balls for flavour. Espresso grind is very fine, so hot water can be forced through the beans under pressure. For this reason, adding finely ground coffee beans to raw treats like this works. It’s all about the grind, so if you are grinding your beans yourself, go as fine as possible.
